The HALO Trust is the world’s largest and oldest international humanitarian mine action charity. As part of a digitalisation improvement plan, HALO is expanding the application of data analysis to better quantify the positive impact of our work around the world. Information Management is vital in HALO’s mission to deliver life-saving responses to people in some of the world’s most neglected countries.

We are enhancing the capacity to use data to drive innovation and ultimately improve our assistance to communities affected by conflict. Accurate and meaningful graphical and visual presentations are key to better decision making and communication of organisational objectives.

In this role, you will form an integral part of a close-knit team responsible for information management. Working under the supervision of the Head of ICT and Information Management, you will be responsible for leading the development of Business Intelligence solutions using the Microsoft BI stack across a wide range of business areas. You will get involved with end-to-end BI delivery including design and development of the global database and a data warehouse, ETL and presentation and analysis of reports and dashboards.

The role will require specific technical skills and expertise to develop next-generation reporting, dashboards and tools to enable data-driven and evidence-based decision making across many functions and roles within the organisation.

This position can be located either at our offices in Wilton (near Salisbury) or Thornhill, Dumfriesshire, Scotland.work around the world.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Setting business requirements for BI tools;
  • Translating business requirements into technical ones;
  • Leading BI software development, deployment, and maintenance;
  • Report curation and data modelling;
  • Participation in data warehouse design;
  • Documenting contents in a data warehouse and meta-data storage;
  • Evaluate and improve existing BI systems; and
  • Creating technical documentation for BI tools.
