Job description:

Capacity for Nutrition in Brussels is looking for a trainee for to support activities including the strengthening of National Information Platforms for Nutrition (NIPN) to support countries in developing and maintaining nutrition information systems for better data analysis and informed strategic decision-making.

You will gain an intensive insight into the structures and working methods of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH as well as practical work experience in the direct environment of the European Union with a specific eye on nutrition related topics.

Your tasks:

  • Support with drafting, editing, and publishing text for the website, as well as editing/proof reading of other nutrition related publications
  • Support with production of nutrition related public information and awareness-raising material
  • Assist the Administration staff in the compilation of electronic mass communications
  • Assist the team in maintaining the website event calendar
  • General maintenance of the website, adding and archiving content, editing of webpages
  • Organisation and implementation of events
  • Participation in and coverage of events
  • Administrative support

Your profile:

  • University degree (current or recently completed Master’s programme) in Communications, Agriculture, Public Health, Development Studies, Political Science, or related fields and experience or keen interest to work in the area of international development cooperation
  • Excellent skills in writing and reporting in English are mandatory; good French and/or Spanish language skills are an asset
  • Excellent knowledge of MS office tools: PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams, OneNote
  • Proven experience with website content management systems, ideally SPIP or other PHP script programmes; a good grip of other communications technology (video conference calls, webinars etc.) as well as MailChimp would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of communication monitoring tools (e.g. Piwik/Matomo) is an asset
  • Experience in journalism or public relations or event management would be an advantage
  • Commitment and enthusiasm and interpersonal and intercultural competencies

We pay a monthly stipend of €1.225,- (gross), meal vouchers and transportation. Please note that the contract will be concluded under Belgian law.
