Summary

MEP Anna-Michelle Asimakopoulou is looking to hire an Accredited Parliament Assistant/Policy Advisor to assist in her office’s work in Brussels, starting immediately.

The staffer will be responsible for parliamentary work in INTA, IMCO, AFET, and D-IL, which includes policy areas related to international trade, digital policy, the EU industrial strategy, the transatlantic relationship, and EU-Israel relations.

He/she will act as the focal point for all activities related his/her policy areas, including drafting briefings, speaking notes and legislative amendments, managing parliamentary work, liaising with stakeholders, and organising events.

Responsibilities

  • Lead parliamentary work in INTA, IMCO, AFET, and D-IL and provide advice on policy matters;
  • Draft briefings, analysis, amendments, and speaking notes on relevant policy areas for speaking engagements and parliamentary affairs;
  • Perform research in a wide range of EU issues, with an ability to be concise;
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key EU, US, and IL representatives and stakeholders;
  • Organise activities including meetings, conferences, and visits;
  • Support office organisation, social media communications, and administrative tasks;
  • Any other task as required.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Law, Political Science, International Affairs, Economy, History or in a related field;
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in relation to the policy areas;
  • Experience working at the European Parliament or in EU institutions, and expert knowledge of the functioning of the European Union;
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with stakeholders;
  • Experience in conducting clear and concise analysis and in drafting briefings and speaking notes;
  • Native-level English is essential (working language is English);
  • Fluency in French and in another language is an asset;
  • Outstanding communication skills and excellent team player;
  • Proactive, resourceful, and ability to work under pressure;
  • Availability to travel regularly and work outside regular office hours.
