Position Title: Administrative Assistant

Duty Station: Manila (Global) Administrative Centre

Classification: General Service/G-4

Type of Appointment: Fixed term, one year with possibility of extension

Closing Date: 27 October 2020

Salary: Php 511,035 per annum net of taxes

CONTEXT

This position will be based in Manila (Global) Administrative Centre (MAC), Philippines and may only be filled by the country’s nationals.

The Migration Research Division (MRD) is responsible for supporting IOM’s worldwide efforts in developing and conducting policy-oriented migration research, as well as implementing global research projects to inform program delivery, policy development and better understanding of migration.

The Division is responsible for IOM’s biennial flagship publication, the World Migration Report, itself a primary knowledge product in the sphere of migration, which is utilized widely within IOM as well as by Member States, researchers, students, other UN agencies, media and others. The Division comprises the Research Unit, Publications Unit and Library, with team members based in both Geneva Headquarters (HQ) and the Manila (Global) Administrative Centre (MAC).

Under the overall supervision of the Head of the Migration Research Division and direct supervision of the Head of the Research Unit, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing effective and efficient administrative support to the Research Unit.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Education

  • University degree in Business Administration or a related field from an accredited academic institution, with two years of relevant professional experience, preferably in administrative support or similar roles; or
  • Completed High School degree from an accredited academic institution, with four years of relevant professional experience.

Experience

  • Previous work experience in international organizations and companies would be an advantage.
  • Prior experience maintaining websites using content management solutions would be an advantage.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Good knowledge of information technology and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, and SharePoint.
