ADVOCACY AND COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER (INT7712)

The Role

The Advocacy and Communications Officer will contribute to delivering effective and timely high-quality communication of the Oxfam in Pakistan’s activities to the relevant stakeholders; and promote Oxfam in Pakistan and its works through different channels of media. He/she will ensure consistent branding throughout Oxfam in Pakistan communications. This position will provide technical support and advice to programme staff and partners on communication methods, materials and channels. He/she will also establish and maintain media relations and ensure effective coordination with print and electronic media.

What we are looking for

  • Degree in Journalism and Mass Communication, development studies. Academic degree in social science with relevant two to three years’ experience in internal and external communication and media engagement can be considered.
  • Experience and/or understanding of protection and humanitarian assistance work
  • Sound understanding on the development context of Pakistan and rights-based approach.
  • Technically competent in internal communication, media engagement, social media, public campaign.
  • Experience in working with youth, Women, vulnerable group and private sector will be an added advantage.
  • Assist and develop graphics, infographics, brochures and other materials when needed.
  • Experience in visibility and brand management, ability to identify branding risk and suggest appropriate solutions.
  • Experience of writing sub-editorial, development or analytical pieces
  • Ability to work in very organized manner with high level skill in planning, interpersonalcommunication, presentation and coordination.
  • Ability to frequently travel to remote areas of Pakistan.
