Area Communications Coordinator (Roster – All Areas)

(A) The incumbent will jointly be supervised by the CAO in the Area, AAP Project Lead Consultant and Head of Public Information Office
(B) The incumbent will report to the AAP Project Lead Consultant and Head of Public Information Office. However for execution of the contract and other operational matters, s/he will. S/he will: a. Disseminate, distribute and publish information supporting UNRWA’s work and services. b. Initiate and implement awareness and public information strategies and campaigns. c. Implement visibility activities. d. Provide communication support to Field Public Information Officer, CAO, CSOs, DRU and other departments in UNRWA. e. Establish media contacts in Areas (as relevant).
(C) Assist Public Information Office (PIO) and Donor Relation Unit (DRU) in field visits of donors and partners to Areas. (D) Arrange, coordinate and facilitate community events. (E) Draft human interest stories, print and distribute bi-monthly community newsletter. (F) Organize regular focus group/community meetings and collect feedback from beneficiaries. (G) Conduct regular home visits to PRS and PRL beneficiaries. (H) Participate in coordination meetings. (I) Perform other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor(s).
