Position description
The instructional faculty will: direct the Political Science program, be terminally degreed in Political Science, be broadly trained as a generalist with the ability to teach political theory, law and politics, American government, and international politics. The instructional faculty member shall have the primary responsibilities of teaching, research/creative achievement, and service functions and shall be held accountable for these obligations as they contribute to the attainment of the mission of the University, the School, and the Department. Possibility of leading the Department of Social Sciences; addressing departmental responsibilities.
Qualifications
Ph.D. in Political Science; educational preparation in accordance with requirements of the University and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools; evidence of potential for effective teaching and scholarly activity; demonstrated knowledge of student advising. Department or program administrative experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in leading a department or program; working with pre-law students; working with moot court or mock trials.
