Job Description
Notre Dame’s School of Arts, Sciences and Business is seeking a full-time tenure-track assistant professor for the Criminology department to teach a full range of sociology and criminology courses within the liberal arts tradition beginning August 2021. Classes at NDMU are scheduled face-to-face weekdays, weeknights, Saturdays, hybrid and fully online.
The department desires to welcome a colleague who values teaching in a liberal arts and sciences environment and who have a particular interest in undergraduate education. The department values the integration of gender and culture into course content. Experience and/or interest in service-learning is desirable. Faculty are expected to be deeply involved in the life of the University, including advising students, contributing to committee work, and participating in major university events. Faculty members are expected to pursue an active research agenda and to support student research and practicum experiences.
Job Qualifications
Applicants should possess a doctoral degree in the discipline of criminology and should have university teaching experience. Experience with online teaching and online course development is highly desirable. All instructors are expected to convey course information and communicate with students through the university learning management system.
