available immediately.

 

This Tenure-Track position is subject to an interim evaluation after four years and a final evaluation after six years. If the final evaluation is positive, this professorship will be upgraded to a full (W3) professorship with no re-advertising of the position. The successful candidate shall focus on developing and establishing new methods for image acquisition or image reconstruction of various medical imaging modalities. In addition, the development and clinical translation of complex image post-processing and image analysis shall be a major field of work. This includes the application of machine learning methods as well as imaging-related reconstruction algorithms, artifact correction methods and image-based quality assurance from medically applicable imaging modalities with a focus on magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography and hybrid imaging, in close exchange with clinicians. The central role of the professorship will be the translation of these methods into clinical applications and the motivation of clinical trials, especially in the area of oncological and cardiovascular imaging. Participation in the usage of existing imaging data from clinical and epidemiological cohort studies is also expected.

 

In the field of teaching, comprehensive experience evaluated as outstanding and involvement are expected, as well as active design of lectures and other teaching formats, particularly in view of innovative curricula in the degree programs taught at the Tübingen Faculty of Medicine. The position has a teaching load of four hours per week prior to interim evaluation and six hours thereafter.

 

Applicants for a Tenure-Track professorship with a PhD from Tübingen must have changed universities after completing their doctorates or have worked in academia and/or research for at least two years somewhere other than the University of Tübingen.

 

Required qualifications include an outstanding doctorate in a pertinent field, internationally renowned

publications and first experience with the acquisition of third-party funding as well as teaching experience.
