Associate Professor of Educational Studies


The Graduate School of Education at Lesley University seeks an outstanding scholar with a strong background in epistemological and methodological knowledge. Responsibilities will include teaching at least one of the core courses across specializations (e.g. Nature of Inquiry, Dissertation Seminar, Issues in Research, Research Design, Quantitative or Qualitative methods) and courses related to one of three general areas: historical or philosophical inquiry; organizational science and development; policy and/or sociology. Faculty also have responsibility to serve as Senior Doctoral Advisors and as members of Doctoral Committees.

Background in epistemological and methodological knowledge.

Doctorate with a concentration in a related educational field.

Strong preparation to teach doctoral courses.

Experience working with early and mid-career professionals.

Knowledge of adult learning pedagogies.

Ability to encourage and facilitate interdisciplinary inquiry.

Familiarity with educational practices across contexts (e.g. PK-12; higher education; health professions; community arts and services; advocacy).

Flexibility with approaches to doctoral advising.

Experience mentoring doctoral students through the dissertation.
