Better Cotton Initiative – BCI

“The Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) promotes measurable improvements in the key environmental and social impacts of cotton cultivation worldwide to make it more economically, environmentally, and socially sustainable. Established officially in 2009, BCI is multi-stakeholder, cooperating with organisations from across the cotton supply chain and other interested stakeholders. BCI and its members aim to transform the cotton sector by developing Better Cotton as a global, mainstream sustainable commodity, bringing long-term benefits to the environment, farmers and other people dependent on cotton for their livelihood. BCI’s approach to achieving sustainability is based on a continuous improvement model.”
