BI Developer & Analyst

The Data Insights, Systems, and Architecture team at IRC is responsible for the design and delivery of data and technology solutions at the IRC. Out team sets the standard for high-impact results by establishing and cultivating relationships across the organization, driving continuous improvement, and delivering value through the implementation of high-quality, strategic data programs.

We are looking for a Data Analyst or Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to create and manage Power BI reports and analytics solutions that turn data into knowledge. In this role, you should have a background in data and business analysis. You should be analytical and an excellent communicator. Major Responsibilities:

· Document business requirements and summarize meeting discussions

· Translate business needs to technical specifications

· Design, build and deploy data dashboards

· Maintain and support data dashboards

· Conduct testing, quality assurance, and troubleshooting on databases, data pipelines, and data dashboards

· Collaborate with software development teams to integrate application database systems and troubleshoot issues

· Develop and execute database queries/views and conduct analyses

· Create visualizations and in Power BI reports for requested projects

· Develop and update technical documentation, help text, and user guides

Qualifications

· Experience as a Data Analyst, BI Developer or related

· Understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework

· Familiarity with BI technologies

· Knowledge Power BI required

· Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server

· Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative

· Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to work effectively with remote teammates and users

Education: As a technical position, a STEM degree is preferred, with an emphasis on analytic rigor, or relevant work experience accepted.

Language Skills: English required

Preferred experience & skills:

· 3-6 years of experience in business analysis and/or 2+ years of experience working with MS Power BI

· Working knowledge of SharePoint Online, Microsoft PowerApps, Power Automate, MS Teams

· Experience with data mart and warehousing

· Knowledge of Power Query and, DAX/MDX scripting language

· Ability to bring structure to unstructured situations

· Ability to communicate clearly and effectively

· Ability to empathize with users to effectively advocate and drive solutions

· Ability to take initiative and be innovative – bias for action and ownership

· Ability lead and facilitate effectively in self organizing teams
