The Role: Business Analyst

Scope:

Within the Transformation Delivery Department, we have a team of Business Analysts that are assigned to projects. Projects will have an IT component but the specific function being supported will vary by project.

In Transformation and Delivery at Save the Children, we have a team of Business Analysts that work in the nexus between IT, Business Architecture and Business Operations.

Our Business Analysts solicit information from within and outside our organisation, across the globe in order to deliver essential business and IT technical requirements and business processes. A Business Analyst on the CAPP Programme will be responsible for both delivery and advisory activities that support the end-to-end project delivery lifecycle.

We also expect any successful candidate to be able to offer a valuable and new contribution to the BA Methodology, continuous improvement insights and Business Analyst Community of Practice.

To be successful in this role, we would like to see experience in an advisory capacity or have proven delivery in complex Transformation Projects or Programmes. Business Analysts will support the development of the current and future state and bridge the gap between projects and the relevant functions and IT (where relevant). Business Analysts will also be expected to contribute to our BA Methodology and support continuous improvement to our BA processes and tools. To be effective in this role you will need experience working as a BA on a complex Transformation Project or Programme.

In order to be successful you will bring/have:

Essential:
* Excellent communication skills (written & oral English), including the ability to communicate with technical, non-technical, internal and external stakeholders across different seniority levels.
* Strong requirements elicitation skills and the ability to translate loose business needs into tangible outcomes including technical specifications.
* Comfortable with Agile solutions delivery approach including familiarity with User Stories, Product Backlog Management and Sprint cycles.
* Proven business process engineering and continuous improvement skills.
* Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate/mediate; to facilitate the resolution of conflicting business requirements.
* Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent understanding of business complexity of both internal and external project interdependencies.
* Intellectual curiosity and the ability to question thought partners across functional areas.
* Proven experience in facilitating productive workshops, preferably in multi-cultural, multi-national contexts.
* Estimates and supports prioritisation of ‘work packages’, able to negotiate and agree priorities with the Project Manager and Project Leads.
* Has the ability to support other functional and operational areas such as testing, Change Management, Data Migration, Cutover and Training.
* Experience working with standardised Business Analysis methodology and associated processes and tools.
* A strong work ethic and able to take the initiative and ownership to deliver value to the business.
* Cultural awareness and experience of delivering solutions internationally.

Desirable:
* Non-profit sector knowledge/experience (especially international development or Humanitarian projects)
* Second language – ideally French, Spanish, Portuguese or Arabic
