Job Summary/General Purpose of Job
Manage the print buying and production of ABA periodicals, reprint and camera-ready books, and numerous marketing and specialty publications such as brochures, posters, catalogues, cards, and other collateral materials every year. Coordinate the production process from manuscript to printed materials, working with consultants and vendors, as well as editorial, design and print groups within the ABA, to ensure timely delivery of ABA publications.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities (listed in order of importance and/or time spent)
Coordinate all phases of print production.
Disseminate communications from and provide follow-up or feedback to multiple contacts and workgroups among ABA Publishing and Vendors.
Maintain and update production schedules and produce weekly production reports.
Manage day-to-day contact with vendors and freelancers.
Review and approve proofs.
Review pricing quotes and purchase vendor services from approved vendors.
Performs other related duties as required.
Required Education, Qualifications, Experience
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university (or equivalent experience; (Note: Education of BA OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE which would require an additional 3-4 years experience in the print production industry)
2-3 years of experience in the print production industry
Strong ability to self-start
Strong ability to work under tight deadline schedules
Ability to prioritize and exhibit good judgment
Ability to manage multiple deadlines
Preferred Education, Qualifications, Experience
Experience in service-provider and service purchaser preferred.
