Key responsibilities:

In this role you will work in the Business Development Unit. Therefore, we are looking for interns (more than one) who have (or do not have experience) in this field to support its business development initiatives and to draft TPM and research proposals in the region.

  • Determine proposal concepts, attend strategy meetings with CPCD staff, communicate with clients.

  • Meet proposal deadlines by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, and approval; contributing proposal status information to review meetings; transmitting proposals.

  • Crafting specific technical methodologies to be used in proposals

  • Develop proposals by assembling information including project nature, objectives/outcomes/deliverables, implementation, methods, timetable, staffing, budget, standards of performance, and evaluation; writing, revising, and editing drafts including executive summaries, conclusions, and organization credentials.

  • Maintain quality results by using templates; following proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone; maintaining proposal support databases.

  • Reviewing proposals.

  • Improving proposal-writing results by evaluating and re-designing processes, approaches, coordination, and implementing changes.

  • Helping to expand company networks through searching for opportunities and consultants.

  • Helping maintain and craft new company SOPs when appropriate.

  • Offer administrative assistance.

  • Work in the M&E Unit, depending on experience and quality of work.

What do we offer?

Though the internship is not paid, yet we do offer you to work with experts in this field where you will develop substantially in M&E, research, and businesses development. Under the supervision of the Head of Business Development and the Technical Managing Director (TMD), you will receive on-job training, coaching, and mentoring to develop your skills in M&E, research and business development in this sector.

For this role, the potential intern(s) should have the following:

  • Advanced language skills in English, speaking and writing (Arabic and Turkish are highly desirable but not a must)
  • Advanced master’s degree in a related field: social sciences, English language, MBA, migration and development studies, international relations, etc. (desirable)
  • At least one year of experience in a related sector (desirable)
  • High communication and business development skills (must)
  • Strong research skills (desirable)
  • Preferable M&E and research experience in the Middle East (desirable) or any other context
  • Have an excellent understanding of the development or humanitarian sector
  • Have deep understanding of the political climate in the Middle East, particularly Yemen, Syria, Turkey, Lebanon, and Iraq
  • Good knowledge or related experience in the MENA region
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong writing and editorial skills for businesses development purposes
  • Design and market mapping skills (preferable)
  • Reporting and emailing skills
