About The Role: This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in casework / social work and passionate about human rights. The caseworker will be in direct contact with women who are asylum seekers & refugees. The caseworker will assist them with daily necessities and legal immigration requirements.
Your work will make a tremendous difference in the lives of the courageous members of this community and will provide you an incredible opportunity to learn about different cultures, traditions, world views, and languages.
Responsibilities:

Maintain weekly check-ins with your assigned members, 15 min – 1 hr sessions on average

Facilitate the transfer of information that will enable members to prepare relevant documentation and access to specialized care

Facilitate group meetings for house members on average, once per month
-
Carry out a risk assessment and make referrals when necessary, inform members of the existing provisions available to them and encourage them to explore and map external safe spaces

Prepare weekly case reports and provide recommendations

Support and guide residents in their job search and housing search
-
Coordinate with translators and cultural mediators as necessary
-
Carry out crisis management and de-escalation techniques in special emergency situations

Collaborate on data collection and mapping of structures and services for the target population

Ensure the confidentiality of all information of the members

Promote long-term strategy and problem/conflict resolution

Undertake other duties as assigned
Requirements:
-
The position is open for female candidates only

Availability to work 30 hours/week

Candidates must be based in Greece
-
Greek citizenship or eligible to work within the EU
-
Background in social work or counseling
-
Experience working in Greece
-
Firm understanding of the asylum process in Greece
-
Experience in Casework
-
Cross-cultural sensitivity
-
Required proficiency in English and French. Arabic or Farsi would be an asset, but not required.
