Strategic Leadership Instructional Advocate and Cultural Champion

  • Plan and implement the development of the Center for Teaching and Learning.
  • Be responsible for providing leadership and strategic support for course design, course delivery, and emerging learning technologies, including MOOCs, asynchronous courses, and an optimal mix of synchronous and asynchronous pedagogy.
  • Work closely with the academic deans and the senior management to ensure that learning and teaching strategy and practice reflect the faculty development needs, pedagogical standards, and the university’s ambitions.
  • Provide direction and support faculty in the effective use of teaching and learning tools, including but not limited to digital technologies and in the understanding of how students learn and how best to optimize their engagement.
  • Promote a campus culture that values and recognizes the importance of teaching excellence and student learning.
  • Work collaboratively with external educational networks to influence policy and secure opportunities for innovation in teaching and learning to maintain the highest standards.

Experience and Expertise

  • Significant experience within a research university in curriculum design, instructional technology, online education, and design of MOOCs.
  • It is anticipated that appropriate candidates will have earned a Master’s degree, or higher, in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated experience with designing, leading, and managing online and hybrid educational programs.
  • Experience with common online course platforms (e.g., Coursera, edX) would be a plus. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of administrative, budgetary, human resources, and financial practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in an international academic setting.
