Chemonics seeks a Monitoring Evaluation, and Learning (MEL)/Climate Data Management Specialist for the anticipated USAID Climate Change Adaptation Activity in Sri Lanka and Maldives. The project aims to enhance the adaptive capacities of the public and private sectors and local communities in the Maldives and Sri Lanka to climate change impacts in ways that contribute to sustained, inclusive market-based growth. This position will be based in Sri Lanka or the Maldives.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide leadership and oversight of MEL activities including routine process monitoring, data collection, data analysis, data quality, timeliness, and reporting
- Lead the design and operation of the program’s MEL systems
- Oversee the collection of and reporting on program management, output, and outcome indicators
- Apply adaptive management strategies and facilitate learning activities to support staff to assess progress and continually refine programming
- Lead the strategy and design of the program’s collaboration, learning and adaptation activities and oversee implementation
- Ensure the creation and dissemination of program learning through strategic communication
- Manage the M&E team and provide technical support to Sri Lanka and the Maldives in-country teams
- Curate, analyze, and manage climate data
Qualifications:
- A degree in environmental science, climate change adaptation, international development, data management, business administration, or a relevant field
- Minimum of five years of monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) experience required
- Minimum of five years of climate/climate change-related data management required
- Experience working in Sri Lanka or Maldives, or in similar country contexts preferred
- Experience working on international donor-supported programs preferred
- Fluent in English; additional relevant foreign-language proficiency (e.g. Dhivehi, Sinhalese, and/or Tamil) preferred
- Demonstrates leadership, versatility, and integrity with a passion for making a difference in the lives of people all around the world
