Overview
St. Jude is anticipating the need for a Clinical Research Scientist in the department of Epidemiology and Cancer Control. This position offers you the opportunity to coordinate the largest cancer survivorship study in North America. As a Clinical Research Scientist, you will lead a team in their daily activities to support participant recruitment, data collection, protocol implementation and quality assurance. We are looking for someone who can work autonomously, be a servant leader, and look for ways to continuously improve the study management process.
Responsibilities
- Identifies and recruits eligible study participants
- Designs and implements complex database queries and reports
- Leads or directs related projects
- Supervises personnel, ensuring adequate training and compliance with proper work and research practices
- Initiates and conducts independent research without direct supervision
- Coordinates the management of large, multidisciplinary clinical research operations
- Utilizes unique, advanced skills in clinical/population-based methodology to achieve high-level research aims
- Oversees clinical research activities including interaction with researchers, clinicians, study participants, collaborating research sites, and administrators
- Works with Principal Investigators to establish policies and procedures to ensure Good Clinical Practices
- Develops Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Minimum Education
Clinical Research Scientist I:
- A MD or a PhD in an appropriate scientific field is required
Clinical Research Scientist II:
- A MD or a PhD in an appropriate scientific field is required
Minimum Experience
Clinical Research Scientist I:
- Three (3) years of relevant and productive research experience in clinical/population-based outcomes and health behavior research required
- Experience must include study design methodology, protocol development, study conduct and analysis
- A Credit Check is required as part of the pre-employment process for the candidate selected for hire in this role
- Experience with Microsoft Accesss is strongly preferred
Clinical Research Scientist II:
- Seven (7) years of relevant and productive research experience in clinical/population-based outcomes and health behavior research required, of which five (5) must have been in clinical research
- Experience must include study design methodology, protocol development, study conduct and analysis
- Three (3) years of related supervisory/managerial experience is required
- Experience with Microsoft Access is strongly preferred
- A Credit Check is required as part of the pre-employment process for the candidate selected for hire in this role
