The incumbent will also help to promote Quebec’s global commerce by, among others, developing and sharing knowledge of the marketplace; providing service, advice and information to clients; building relationships with clients and local contacts; doing troubleshooting as well as planning and executing events. Essential qualifications: Education: • Minimum Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university, OR an acceptable equivalent through the combination of education and work experience Language: • Proficiency in French (reading, writing, listening and speaking) • Proficiency in Mandarin (reading, writing, listening and speaking Experience: • Experience in general administrative duties • Experience in dealing with the general public and customer/client service Knowledge: • Knowledge of international business (exporting, importing, investment, technology transfer) • Knowledge of MS Office Tools, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Teams • Knowledge of the Chinese social media environment, particularly WeChat and Weibo Abilities/skills: • Ability to write effective letters and correspondence in French and Chinese; • Ability to research, interpret sources of information and synthesize data to respond to requests for information from clients • Ability to perform translation and interpretation from Chinese to French and vice versa Personal suitability: • Client focus – Takes personal responsibility for correcting client problems • Effective Interactive Communication – Checks understanding and clarity • Effectiveness / Achievement Orientation – Finds innovative ways to improve performance • Initiative – Takes action under pressure • Judgment – Applies sound judgment when analyzing problems or situations • Networking/Alliance Building – Identifies/approaches key stakeholder contacts Asset Qualifications: Language: • Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking) Experience: • Experience working and liaising with Chinese government agencies and companies • Experience in working with visiting business and/or government delegation • Experience in creating content for corporate social media accounts Knowledge: • Knowledge of relevant topics such as Quebec and Chinese trade and investment business environment and practices; major areas and/or sectors of international trade; and/or Chinese government and industry structures, major economic and political issues Organizational Needs: n/a Operational Requirements: • Ability and willingness to work overtime on short notice as required • Able to travel domestically as required Condition(s) of Employment: • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid working authorization in China.
