The Centre for Social Sciences invites Erasmus+ students to work as interns or trainees with the H2020 project DEMOS (Democratic Efficacy and the Varieties of Populism in Europe), coordinated by the Centre. They will help produce and monitor multimedia content for the project’s online platforms, assist with management tasks, and help produce data analysis on the online performance of the project. They will work under the supervision of, and will report to, the project’s Communications Manager. More information about the project at www.demos-h2020.eu. 

Selected candidates will work either part-time or full time, depending on their Erasmus+ arrangements, ideally for at least 3 months. Upon the selected candidate’s performance and evaluation, this period can be extended. Starting date to be negotiated.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will help with drafting content for online platforms (i.e., social media and website)
  • You will help map and contact key project stakeholders for newsletter and dissemination of results
  • You will conduct data analysis on the performance of social media and website channels for reporting purposes.
  • You will be required to help design and produce audio-visual content for the project
  • You will provide insights and inputs into the dissemination plan of the project, including drafting an analysis report with key recommendations to connect project results with students in an online environment
  • You will implement the project, after receiving feedback from and under the supervision of the project management
  • You will help organize ad-hoc meetings but also large project conferences.

YOUR PROFILE

  • You are currently a master student majoring in communication, journalism, media studies or have prior/equivalent academic background/experience in related areas (e.g., design, arts, political science, radio, video-making, marketing).
  • You have knowledge and/or experience in writing/producing content for online platforms and social media (i.e., Website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube);
  • You have knowledge and/or experience in monitoring content’s performance on social media and boosting users’ engagement;
  • You are familiar with or interested in topics such as populism, democracy, and governance;
  • You are familiar with social media analytics or interested in putting into practice data analysis skills for helping with impact reports;
  • You are pro-active for project dissemination/communication activities including organizing events, online meetings, designing images, tracking and liaising with project stakeholders;
  • You are eager to learn even if you are not an expert in the topics listed above.

We are looking for creative individuals, team-oriented, and committed to translating academic work into language that is understandable and suitable for DEMOS’s target groups in multiple formats.
