PACE Overview

PACE is a public-private collaboration platform and project accelerator that aims to leverage global public-private leadership to accelerate action towards the circular economy. PACE was created and incubated by the World Economic Forum (“the Forum”) in Switzerland. As part of a new phase of development, the work is currently being transitioned across to a formal PACE hub, being established at WRI Europe in the Netherlands.

To date PACE has achieved significant outputs across its three delivery pillars:

  • Projects: driving projects
  • Leadership/Engagement: leveraging global leadership to drive action
  • Knowledge: capture and disseminate learnings for scale.

Funding commitment is partially complete for three-years for the PACE hub to enable further scale and speed.

The PACE hub will function and operate as an independent unit with its own branding and governed by an independent board. Work will be undertaken by a diverse project team initially comprising of 6 full-time staff and a number of additional seconded members from across the PACE partner organizations. As funding growth allows, the team may further expand.

We are working to address six critical challenges that the world must overcome this decade in order to secure a sustainable future for people and the planet: climate change, energy, food, forests, water and sustainable cities.

We are passionate. We value our diversity of interests, skills and backgrounds. We have a flexible work environment. And we share a common goal to catalyze change that will improve the lives of people. Our shared ideals are at the core of our approach. They include: integrity, innovation, urgency, independence and respect.

The foundation of our work is delivering high-quality research, data, maps and analysis to solve the world’s greatest environment and international development challenges, and improve people’s lives. We work with leaders in government, business and civil society to drive ambitious action and create change on the ground. Equally important, we bring together partners to develop breakthrough ideas and scale-up solutions for far-reaching, enduring impact.
