We are looking for Interns!
Cycling Industries Europe is seeking to recruit one or more Interns to support our activities in the areas of communications, business development and advocacy.
WHO WE ARE
Cycling Industries Europe (CIE) is an advocacy voice for cycling businesses in Europe. Our ambition is to grow cycling in Europe, for the benefit of society and the benefit of cycling businesses. Cycling Industries Europe brings together leading experts and companies from across the globe representing the entire supply chain, from bicycle and parts makers to bike sharing, cycle logistics, online services, financial services, infrastructure, tourism and consultancy. CIE offices are located in the EU area in Brussels.
We also provide support for other cycling associations such as the International Mountain Bike Association (IMBA Europe) and the European Cycle Logistics Federation (ECLF).
CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES
CIE needs a Communications Intern who will support the internal and external communications activities of CIE, our members, our Expert Groups and our projects.
We also have an opportunity to host a Communications and Projects Intern who will be part of our team but work mainly in support of the activities of IMBA Europe to promote and advocate for mountain biking in Europe.
We may consider an additional post for a suitable intern who can work on our industry development activities.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supporting the team in communications activities (website, social media, newsletter, marketing material)
- Supporting in the implementation of EU co-funded projects
- Support for the running of Expert Groups, networks and task groups
- Carrying out digital media monitoring and tracking relevant EU policy activities
- Supporting the organisation of webcasts, external meetings, workshops and events
- Creating and updating databases and mailing lists
PROFILE
All candidates
- Hardworking, motivated, stress resilient and proactive attitude
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office software, database & IT skills
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- A reliable, flexible and responsible team player with an ability to multitask
- Thrives in a multicultural environment
- Fluent in English, both oral and written; other European languages advantageous.
- Strong interest in cycling and related policy/public affairs areas such as mobility, sustainability and industry is an asset
- Be legally allowed to work in Belgium and attend CIE’s Brussels office according to the COVID related rules in force at the time
- Available from July 1st 2021
Specific needs
Candidates interested in supporting the work of IMBA Europe should have a proven interest in at least one relevant topic such as outdoor sports and recreation, rural economics, land use and access policies.
Candidates interested in industry development should have a proven record in an industry/business role or a qualification in business/marketing.
OUR OFFER
This is an opportunity to work in an international, dynamic environment, to take active part in the day-to-day running of activities, have a chance to improve your skills in areas such as communication, projects and organisational development.
All Interns work under the conditions of the Brussels Region programme for professional immersion which allows for a six-month traineeship. A monthly fee is provided under this programme.
