POSITION SUMMARY:
The Community Health Worker (CHW) Program Specialist will supervise and manage the CHW program in Abaco for Project HOPE’s Bahamas Dorian Recovery Program. The CHW program seeks to achieve better health outcomes in priority areas including maternal and child health, chronic diseases, and water and hygiene practices. This position will lead the training and overall supervision of the program as CHWs conduct visits to community members (virtually and in person) to provide social support, health education, and improve access to health services. The CHW Specialist responsibilities include: supporting continuing CHW education courses, conducting feedback sessions with CHWs and their Supervisors, and collecting CHW data for research, monitoring, and evaluation purposes. This position will report directly to the Team Lead – Bahamas Recovery Program.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervise 16 Consultant CHWs and 3 CHW Supervisors serving priority geographies

Ensure that CHWs are working effectively in their communities

Coordinate with health facilities and health practitioners so that the CHW program is integrated into the health system

Develop, Implement, and maintain quality M&E systems and data for the CHW program

Coordinate, plan, develop, and implement all trainings and training material

Work closely with program staff including the Finance and Operations Coordinator and translator
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• WASH and MCH Technical background
• College Degree in Public Health or related field, or 5 years of experience in a similar role
• Experience with Community Health Worker programs required
• Experience developing and leading trainings for adult learners
• Previous experience in a recovery setting and/or in a low resource setting
• Full fluency in English required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master’s Degree preferred
• A technical background in Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene and/or Non-Communicable Diseases strongly preferred
• Proficiency in Haitian Kreyol preferred
