UNICEF has ambitious targets for Individual fundraising- to diversify channels, regions and audiences, to develop new creative propositions, to strengthen the cash giving programme and to improve the retention of existing donors and to deliver on the new digital revenue strategy.

All these initiatives will need even more and varied creative assets and packages, mainly for digital.   

To help the unit deliver on these critical needs, the Individual Giving (IG) unit would like to add further resources through this consultancy.

How can you make a difference?

To support the delivery of projects and creative materials for the content Digital and Fundraising & Marketing Services teams within Individual Giving unit in PFP, with a focus on support to the Latin American and Caribbean Regional Office (LACRO).

To support the Fundraising & Marketing Services Team within the IG unit in delivery of global fundraising packages and retention assets for markets as well as global donors.

To support LACRO with the objective of helping them improve the fundraising results in UNICEF markets for mainly lead nurturing, and support other activities as, retention, typologies, and legacies email nurturing.

MAIN TASKS:

Under the guidance of the Fundraising Manager (Fundraising & Marketing Services-FMS) and Regional Fundraising Specialist at PFP LACRO, the consultant will perform the following tasks:

1. Support the Fundraising Manager (FMS) to deliver up to two global multi-channel fundraising packages

  • Work with agencies to develop the strategic thinking for these two packages and project plans with well-defined phases and timelines.
  • Support the team in developing all the assets for these fundraising packages.
  • Interact closely with key markets to ensure their inputs are considered during the development of the package.
  • Deliver the campaign within timelines.
  • Distribute the campaign assets to all the relevant markets and support them during the implementation stage.
  • Respond to post-delivery requests and queries.
  • Evaluate the performance.

2. In coordination with the Email Specialist, deliver donor retention materials on a monthly basis

  • Co-plan the donor retention journey.
  • Develop the assets- emails, videos- for all the touchpoints in this journey.
  • Work closely with the Marketing Team to evaluate and monitor the performance of these assets.
  • Identify relevant content form different sources, copywriting of emails, script for the videos, where possible editing the videos. 
  • Copywriting for the landing pages.

3. Curation of content being produced and used by fundraising markets for sharing amongst markets

  • Package the examples from the markets in a structured way.
  • Upload on weshare.
  • Share amongst markets.

4. Launch and accelerate the delivery of Content assets to support LACRO (Latin America Regional Office) markets with

  • Translate and localize global assets that may have potential for Fundraising in LACRO.
  • Identify UNICEF content that can be translated, repurposed or adapted to LACRO audiences for digital channels, mainly Email Marketing, Social Media, Ads, Videos, Banners and conversion landing pages.
  • In collaboration with the corresponding teams, create an Email Marketing library for lead nurturing with examples of email copies and templates for different fundraising channels.
  • Identify any other existing content in UNICEF HQ or UNICEF markets that could be localized for LACRO and repurpose it.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing between LACRO offices, by providing information on new content available for them, testing proposals and even webinars to share results among all the teams.

5. Produce Lead Generation and Fundraising campaign package for UNICEF markets

  • Work with agencies to develop the strategic thinking around this idea and project plan with well-defined phases and timelines.
  • Developing the assets with identified agencies.
  • Interact closely with key markets to ensure their inputs are considered during the development of the package.
  • Deliver the campaign within timelines.
  • Distribute the campaign assets to all the relevant markets and support them during the implementation stage.
  • Respond to post-delivery requests and queries.
  • Evaluate the performance.

6. Create Digital content repository for other campaigns

  • Create virtual space to store contents produced.
  • Emails and especial content for retention purposes.
  • Emails and especial content for legacies lead nurturing.
  • Collect best contents from COs and Natcoms, coordinating with Email Specialist, in terms of; HTML templates, cash campaigns, newsletters, emergencies, typologies, corporates communications, and other.

DELIVERABLES:

Global Fundraising Packages and all the assets as defined in the individual project plans.

  1. Global creative package 1 to be delivered by February 2021
  2. Global creative package 2 to be delivered before December 2021
  3. Retention assets:
    1. All the retention emails as per the journey plan
    2. All the supporting materials like the landing pages
  4. Curation of examples from the markets
  5. Content Marketing strategy and Content Calendar regular updates. Deadline: monthly
  6. Content assets for LACRO: Social Media posts, Video proposals, Landing pages, A/B testing proposals, video subtitling, banners…etc. Deadline: within 1 week from the request (different timeline can be agreed depending on complexity of content).
  7. Email Marketing with email copies and templates. within 1 week from the request (different timeline can be agreed depending on complexity of content).
  8. Digital Content repository. Deadline: created in month 1 and updated monthly.

ESTIMATED DURATION OF THE CONTRACT

Up to 21 working days per month within 11.5 months. Tentatively starting in January 2021.

REPORTING TO 

  • The main supervisor will be Fundraising Manager (Fundraising & Marketing Services), Individual Giving team, PFP
  • But also reporting to Regional Fundraising Specialist at PFP LACRO, in close Coordination with LACRO Digital Team and PFP Geneva.

WORKPLACE

The incumbent can work remotely, from their own place. Communications will be done through phone, skype and email. Some travel to PFP (Geneva) could be expected for projects follow up with both supervisors.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • A first level university degree in Marketing, Communications, Humanities, Fundraising, Business Administration, Social Sciences, International Relations or their equivalent is required.
  • At least 5 years of work experience in strategizing, planning and executing fundraising/marketing campaign.
  • Proven experience in copywriting for fundraising/marketing materials is required.
  • Experience managing creative agencies and working in multi-stakeholder environment is required.
  • Email Marketing expertise: automations, copywriting, segmentation, journeys, is required.
  • Digital Fundraising hands-on expertise is required.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
