BACKGROUND
Demand for targeted education-related case studies continues to grow, especially in light of the revitalization of the Global Technical Teams. Work to streamline and update the information architecture will also be ongoing given pending organizational reform.
The consultancy covers creation of key education knowledge management content and their dissemination over key channels. Work to align internal and external platforms on unicef.org and SharePoint is also covered and necessary to keep pace with organizational reform.
Terms of Reference / Deliverables
Key Education Strategy-related knowledge products finalized:
-
15 to 20 two-page education case studies with mini-summaries and two-liners finalized
-
30 to 40 visual cards related to the case studies
-
At least 3 blogs or articles related to Strategy priority areas produced
-
Input on other 2-page case studies developed in collaboration with the global education team, as required.

At least 24 Education Team Newsletters and Special Announcements produced, linking to Strategy knowledge products and events
Contents of Education Communication Site/Knowledge Domain updated
-
Update resource packs for all priority areas
-
Alignment of the Education Communication Site/Knowledge Domain with Global Reforms (e.g. create pages for Education Financing and School Health & Nutrition)

Update news on the site on a bi-weekly basis
Contents of Education Internet finalized

Publish Education studies and other permissible documents on the Education Internet sub-pages as needed.

Revise Education Internet sub-pages at least once a year to keep statistics up to date following the publication of the ARR 2021
Qualifications
(1) Education
-
Master’s in Education, Information Management or a related field
2) Work experience
-
5 years of relevant work experience at the national or international levels in fields related to Education and/or knowledge/information management.
-
Demonstrated experience in developing and managing knowledge management platforms (i.e., intranet, communities of practice, content management, etc.) desirable.
-
Previous work experience with UNICEF’s web-based content management system, Drupal, is required.
-
Previous work experience in UNICEF is an asset.
3) Competencies
-
Excellent communication and organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
-
Excellent writing skills and knowledge of UNICEF style and editing conventions.
-
Strong experience with Microsoft SharePoint and facility with Microsoft Office365 Suite.
-
Fluency in English (verbal and written) is required.
-
Knowledge of an additional UN Language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is considered an asset.
Requirements:

Completed profile in UNICEF’s e-Recruitment system. Upload copy of academic credentials.

Financial proposal stating desired monthly rate (in US$) to undertake the terms of reference

Indication of availability.

Any emergent / unforeseen duty travel and related expenses will be covered by UNICEF.

At the time the contract is awarded, the selected candidate must have in place current health insurance coverage.
Payment of professional fees will be based on submission of agreed satisfactory deliverables. UNICEF reserves the right to withhold payment in case the deliverables submitted are not up to the required standard or in case of delays in submitting the deliverables on the part of the consultant.
U.S. Visa information:
With the exception of the US Citizens, G4 Visa and Green Card holders, should the selected candidate and his/her household members reside in the United States under a different visa, the consultant and his/her household members are required to change their visa status to G4, and the consultant’s household members (spouse) will require an Employment Authorization Card (EAD) to be able to work, even if he/she was authorized to work under the visa held prior to switching to G4.
