For every child, results

The Digital Strategy Section (DSS) within the Division of Communication comprises Web Editorial, Social Media News and Campaigns, Digital Governance and Platforms teams working together to create compelling public-facing content and to provide digital services within the organization. Through multiple platforms and in multiple languages, the Digital Strategy Section draws attention to the many facets of UNICEF’s work, encouraging public support, participation and action, as well as ensuring greater transparency and accountability. Web stories, blog posts, photo essays, Facebook posts, Twitter campaigns, and videos for distribution via UNICEF.org, UNICEF Connect, YouTube, news media and other outlets and platforms are all a part of our digital storytelling.

The Digital Strategy Section is also responsible for the build, management and maintenance of global website properties, as well as providing support to Country and Regional (field) Offices to maximize their use of global web platforms in their communications activities. This role is instrumental in ensuring our large and globally distributed user base has access to web platforms, and is supported to use these platforms to publish high quality content that is critical to their communications work.

How can you make a difference?

In the context of global emergencies and issues, the digital world is increasingly borderless. Global activism via social media and online platforms have increased the reliance on global channels to offer multi-country solutions for digital audiences around the world. UNICEF communications channels are critical worldwide in reaching people everywhere with the right information and provide avenues to support children.

As the Digital Marketing Specialist, you will be working to analyze and integrate fundraising and marketing functionalities and best practices in the global digital infrastructure within the Division of Communication (HQ). With the aim of leveraging the global digital channels to facilitate and elevate local fundraising efforts, this role will be integral in setting up, testing and monitoring impactful practices for data sharing, platform integration and lead generation for UNICEF National Committees and Country Offices.

You have a strong digital and marketing analytics skillset and curious mindset, always seeking to find the right information to guide strategic decision making, run tests to prove your theories and find ways to coordinate and execute the outcome of the decisions across digital channels – everything from web, social media, online payment gateways and across the whole user experience.

You are a strong marketing or campaign project manager, able to create plans based on evidence, and see them through to execution and evaluation. This role requires an analytics brain who can decipher marketing problems and work with various channels teams to coordinate all the pieces of the marketing ecosystem and take them to the market. The role requires a good level of comfort with Google Analytics and other leading data analysis tools for example TalkWalker, CrowdTangle, Google Trends, social media platforms native analytics, and more.
