BACKGROUND:
MENA Regional Office (MENARO) Programme and Planning section has documentations to be published to public such as Regional office annual report.
The above document requires high quality technical writing and copy editing by experienced editors who speak English as their native language to ensure that documents are clear, compelling, consistent and Results Based focused. As the documents touches UNICEF programming cycle, the consultant should know UNICEF style book and UNICEF programmes.
OBJECTIVE: formulate the ROAR based on RO inputs and available documentation ensuring that the ROAR summary narrative considers all the different analysis and documents and bring these together in one coherent accessible text which is adequate for external audiences.
DESCRIPTION OF ASSIGNMENT:
The consultant will formulate and edit the ROAR to ensure the contents follow the UNICEF style guidebook and meet the quality standard.
KEY DELIVERABLES:
The Consultant will provide a finalized coherent ROAR 2020 in accordance with HQ’s guidance.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Advanced degree in English language, journalism or sociology.
- Professional Editor and/or writer with minimum 5 years’ experience of copy editing/writing quality products in English.
- English language native speakers with proven experience in copy editing and/or writing reports and media materials
- Experience of working in an emergency situation or for the United Nations is an added advantage.
- Knowledge on UNICEF stylebook, mandate and the programme is must.

PAYMENT SCHEDULE:
(lump sum upon completion): Payment will be subject to the satisfactory submission of all the deliverables.
