Follows nutritional and sanitary standards using menus and recipes approved by the Food Services Manager while adhering to all policies including minimum waste, food safety, and sanitation. Oversees production in assigned area in coordination with the Kitchen Manager. HOURS: Monday – Friday, 7:00-3:30 (with occasional events outside of that schedule)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Maintains a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.
- Prepares and serves food according to approved menus and standardized recipes while keeping waste to a minimum.
- Monitors product pars in assigned area. Places order procurement on a bi-weekly basis.
- Provides training in assigned area on use of equipment, health department standards, customer service, prep, and cleaning.
- Cross-trains in at least one additional area as determined by Kitchen Manager.
- Monitors food quality using Food Safe methods as directed. Applies correct cooking temperatures.
- Helps maintain orderly, clean facilities. Sweeps and mops floors.
- Assists in serving meals in appropriate portions. Notifies Chef/Manager if quantities are low.
- Preps and serves food and beverages to guests at caterings, special events, and banquets as scheduled.
- Assist is daily closing and cleaning. Collects and returns dirty dishes to washing area. Removes trash and breaks down boxes.
- Keeps Food Service Manager apprised of problems or situations as they arise, such as product shortages, special orders, and repair or maintenance needs.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or equivalent and one (1) to three (3) years’ experience in food preparation; or equivalent combination of education and experience. ServeSafe handler certification required.
