The Cost & Pricing Specialist will work on IRI’s Business Development team to support cost & pricing data collection and maintenance, conduct internal/market research and work with program and program services staff to support cost proposal efforts.

Position Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in business, finance, international relations, or related field.
  • Three years professional experience developing or managing budgets for US government-funded programs and/or grant proposals.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel budget development, and advanced formula utilization and data analysis capabilities.
  • Ability to be flexible and adjust priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task, as well as the ability to be flexible and adjust priorities based on time pressures.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team to coordinate and lead the efforts of other professionals to effectively meet program goals and deadlines.

Preferred:

  • Experience working on and contributing to USG and/or foreign proposals.
  • Proactive in identifying and solving problems

Primary Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Overseas the collection and maintenance of cost & pricing data, including working closely with technical teams to identify pricing needs, such as:
    • Identifying gaps in current pricing documentation
    • Supporting program teams in collecting and collating pricing information
    • Regularly checking in with field teams to ensure documentation is updated
  • Conducts internal/market research to inform global pricing data & strategy for proposals.
  • Communicates with program and program services staff to support cost proposal efforts.
  • Ensures compliance of final formatting and production of cost proposal elements.
  • Drafts and/or modify the budget templates to comply with donor requirements and create and/or revise new budget templates as needed.
  • Conducts trend analysis on proposal spending and donor feedback, generating reports to Sr. Cost Specialists and other Senior Leadership of the Business Development Team.
  • Creates proposal billing codes; tracking proposal expenses and updating proposal tracking documents with cost information.
  • Conducts proposal-related research and analysis to assist Sr. Cost Specialists in developing new competitive cost proposals.
  • Assist Sr. Cost Specialists in the development of training resources, such as: budgeting, pricing strategies, and budget templates.
  • Seeks opportunities to streamline cost and pricing processes and strengthening IRI’s BD practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.
