Educo is looking for a Country Director in Philippines.

We are present in the region of Bicol since 2005. In partnership with schools, communities and local governments, we carry-out our cooperation program in the provinces of Albay, Sorsogon, Catanduanes and Zamboanga, reaching to 70,000 school children and their families.

We are looking for a experienced professional, with proven experience in working with international organizations working focused in child rights.

Country Director will be responsible for leading the Country Office and determining its strategy as an extension of Educo’s global strategy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Lead the development and execution of high-quality country strategy according to Global Impact Framework (GIF) and Global Programmatic Framework (GPF), relevant to the local context and reflecting the global priorities and contribute to Educo global strategy as a member of Global Executive Committee (GEC).

· Oversee the recruitment, orientation, and performance of Educo SMT (Senior Management Team) and their development, demonstrating healthy engagement, strong management teams, culture of innovation, and effective talent management.

· Strengthen the financial sustainability of programs and operations through vibrant Country Organizational Development Plan (ODP) aligned with Global ODP, striking healthy financial ratios, and effective budget administration and compliance with statuary regulations related to INGOs in the country.

· Lead and oversee the grants acquisition and management effort in the country through CODP ensuring long-term sustainability of the portfolio and achievement of annual targets including sponsorship services and its integration with program.

· Oversee program quality in the country according to CPF; ensuring quality execution of program strategy that integrates child protection, Disaster risk reduction, effective humanitarian response including security framework in a timely manner, together with the completion of M&E processes.

· Lead and take all appropriate actions to ensure promotion and enforcement of the Safeguarding and Ethics based Policies (including Child safeguarding) and follow up on any findings to address any gaps or weaknesses given the uniqueness of the local operating context and best practice.

· Represent Educo externally, including legal representation, and develop Educo reputation and brand based on the CODP among government, donors, media, peer INGOs to pre-position, advocate, network and raise profile and reputation among key influencers important to advance children’s right and wellbeing.

· Provide leadership in the development or change management transformative initiatives in the country based on the GIF to enable evolution of programs and their delivery models as well as incentivize the innovation and action-research development.

REQUISITES

  • Degree in Political Science, Development Studies, Program’s Management work or related discipline, masters degree preferred.
    Other backgrounds will be considered if accompanied by adequate job experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience of exercising leadership functions with increasing responsibilities in an international environment related to development.
  • Proven understanding of Child Rights and wellbeing concepts.
  • Knowledge of the requirements of donor compliance and financial management.
  • Knowledge of programming in challenging environment, economic, social/religious and humanitarian context in Philippines or a comparable environment.
  • Strong diplomatic and communication skills including through mass-media and proven networking and negotiation skills with governmental and non-governmental actors.
  • Successful experience in development and management effective and motivated teams, including distance management.
  • Excellent communication skills in Tagalog and English; Spanish and French a plus.

CONDITIONS:

REMUNERATION

Gross annual salary 2.100.000 pesos (all extra payments included). To be determined in function of the candidate’s experience.

LOCATION

The job will be based in Educo’s Philippines offices: Manila or Legazpi.

DURATION OF CONTRACT

Indefinite contract with a probationary period.
