Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The Department of Political Science provides concentrations in the following areas: 1) Civic Engagement and Public Policy, 2) Theory and Pre-law, and 3) Global Politics. The department ranks as the most resourceful undergraduate program in political science among all HBCUs by the American Political Science Association Review .
Primary Purpose of Position
The Department of Political Science in the College of Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities (CASH) at North Carolina Central University is seeking applications to fill the position of the Dan Blue Endowed Chair in Political Science with a strong focus on race, class, and immigration. This is a non-tenure track full-time, nine-month position at the rank of Full Professor.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Productive and engaged research record in the areas of race, class, and immigration; successful record in securing external research funding; experience with successfully advising undergraduate and graduate students. Moreover, the Department anticipates that the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the development of a graduate program that focuses on race, class, and immigration.
Candidates should have a demonstrated background of interdisciplinary collaboration and partnership with public and private organizations
Minimum Education/Experience
Ph.D. in Political Science / Public Policy, and Policy Science
Licenses or Certification required by Statute or Regulation
