EM2030 seeks a Data & Insights Team Coordinator who will help to support the team with administration, project coordination, project planning and delivery. The role will involve collaboration with colleagues across the EM2030 Secretariat, partnership and with a broader range of stakeholders.

This is a full-time, fixed-term position based in Washington, DC, from ASAP to December 2021 (with the possibility of extension dependent on funding). The EM2030 team is dispersed globally and virtual working is an important part of our team culture. The position is normally based in the Plan International USA office in Washington DC, but remote working will be supported until the office is re-opened, in line with COVID-19 restrictions.

The Data & Insights Team Coordinator reports to the Head of Data & Insights. The scope of the role will include the following dimensions:

Support to the Head of Data & Insights

  • Provide support to Head of Data & Insights to organize, roll out and maintain project plans and knowledge-management processes in support of team activities
  • Work proactively to capture and communicate project milestones and deadlines, to ensure timely delivery
  • Provide regular updates on ongoing processes and deliverables within the Data & Insights team, and to the EM2030 Secretariat, partners and other stakeholders

Support with Data & Insights Team coordination processes / knowledge management

  • Maintain team calendar, work collaboratively to define project plans, keep project management software and tools (e.g. WRIKE) up-to-date
  • Provide information to internal teams and review/track activities with dependencies
  • Manage a shared, well-organized electronic filing system. Keeps filing up-to-date and regularly assesses to make recommendations for improvements as needed
  • Perform outreach and communication with teams and external partners, as required
  • Provide logistical support for meetings, including taking notes, capturing meeting actions, and sharing minutes

Research/communications assistance

  • Conduct literature reviews, synthesize findings and monitor relevant material from conference and seminars, academic journals and policy publications and reports from a wide variety of sources
  • Write research summary notes and reports, media summaries, and briefing memos
  • Scan the media and social media landscape to identify opportunities for engagement on relevant gender equality and Data & Insights themes
  • Participate in the dissemination, communication and presentation of research findings; assist with drafting, editing, and proof reading of materials for publication; provide support in the preparation of social media messaging, presentations, EM2030 newsletter, blog posts, and policy briefs.

Coordinate logistics for meetings, webinars, travel and other Data & Insights-related events

  • Maintain up to date contact and relationship management systems for Data & Insights contacts, aligning with other EM2030 teams
  • Help to organize remote and (eventually) in-person events by maintaining up-to-date invite lists, preparing event project plans, drafting communications, sending communications, dealing with vendors, responding to questions, and troubleshooting logistical issues

Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to organize, manage, prioritize, and follow through on multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • A self-starter with curiosity and the ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work across projects and activities in a matrixed work environment
  • Excellent verbal and written English language skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, knowledge of social media and webinar platforms (Zoom, Webex, etc.)
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to interact with individuals at all levels

Desirable assets

  • French and/or Spanish language skills
  • Experience working in cross-cultural environments
  • Awareness of gender equality and/or international development issues

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of work experience
