Job Summary
This full-time, exempt-level position provides essential programmatic, logistical and substantive support to the Death Penalty Representation Project which works nationally to improve the quality and availability of defense counsel to capital defendants and prisoners on death row.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
Manage budget and financial activities.
Manage, administer, and apply for grants, sponsorship and scholarship programs.
Conduct research and create programmatic materials and informational reports.
Manage databases, coordinate training and meetings logistics.
Manage and update website.
Hire, manage, and mentor legal and undergraduate interns.
Research, write and edit for quarterly newsletter.
Create content and strategy for multiple social media platforms.
Assist in planning various events.
Respond to requests for information or assistance from legal community, the public, and the media.
Provide general management of office and support for Director and Staff Attorneys.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Education, Qualifications, Experience
Bachelor’s degree with high level of achievement. An interest in death penalty issues and a passion for justice. Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work independently. Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks. Strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills. Professional and mature demeanor.
Preferred Experience
Expertise with word processing software, databases, Excel, and PowerPoint. Graphic design experience and proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite. Familiarity with social media applications. Experience navigating complex rules in a large organization. Understanding of financial systems and experience managing program budgets.
