For over 50 years, Samaritan’s Purse has helped meet needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing God’s love through His Son, Jesus Christ.
Opportunity Overview:
We have an incredible opportunity for an experienced Digital Products Designer to join our Application Development team! You will collaborate with our ministry departments in creating applications that are both functional and beautifully designed. Applications that you would help design include:
- Volunteer management platforms used to manage hundreds of thousands of volunteers and millions of volunteer hours
- Donor interfaces (such as public websites and e-commerce)
- North American Ministries initiatives such as work order management
- Operation Christmas Child initiatives such as building shoeboxes online and tracking the delivery of shoeboxes around the world
We are looking for someone that can translate ideas and concepts into designs that can be prototyped quickly and shared with stakeholders. You will need to be able to mediate between the dreams of our clients and the reality of development constraints. Technical Requirements:
- Five or more years’ experience designing intuitive and attractive user interfaces
- Skilled in creating prototypes using software such as Figma or InVision
- Ability to provide a consistent look across all business applications that adhere to Samaritan’s Purse standards
- Skilled in wireframing design ideas that steer clients and developers towards UX/UI best practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift weekly and sometimes daily
- Relentlessly advocate for the best user experience possible using design and accessibility best practices
- Ability to problem solve, think outside of the box, and provide answers to questions that the client doesn’t know they should be asking
Preferred Requirements:
- Familiar with source control (Git)
- Familiar with working in containers (Docker and Kubernetes)
- Advanced knowledge of CSS, HTML, and JavaScript
Ministry/Mission Requirements:
- Faithfully upholds the ministry in prayer
- Maintains a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ
- Consistently participates in daily staff devotions
- Demonstrate behavior aligned with Samaritan’s Purse Mission Statement, Statement of Faith, Hallmarks, policies, and expectations
- Effectively represents Jesus Christ to those within both personal and professional spheres of influence
- Maintain a strong Christian witness to colleagues, vendors, charitable beneficiaries, and the general public.
