Ensures the fulfillment of the department of Migration and Refugee Services (MRS)’ mission and strategic goals; leads the Children’s Services team in developing and implementing objectives, activities, and metrics related to unaccompanied children. Provides leadership direction for, and strategically manages, all children’s services programs administered by USCCB/MRS. Ensures MRS’ interest in children are effectively represented and advocated in the public fora. Contributes to the Bishops’ strategic plan for the Conference. Demonstrates willingness and ability to understand, respect and contribute to the USCCB mission and to fulfill job duties in accordance with its Catholic identity.

Requirements: Advanced degree in social work, social sciences, administration Child welfare or related fields; Administration/management; behavioral and/or social sciences Required skills: leadership, strategic planning, management, supervisory, communication (including written and verbal), and negotiation. Proficiency in computer applications, financial management and public policy. Extensive knowledge of and commitment to the authentic teaching of the Catholic Church on issues relating to children and child welfare as well as a general knowledge of the Catholic Church and its teachings and the diocesan structure and/or a willingness to be educated and promote these teachings. Basic computer literacy. Ability to use the Microsoft products Excel and Word and access information from MRS databases and from the internet. Minimum of eight years directly related experience
