Since adopting our global strategy, 100 Million Reasons, our global work to advance children’s rights and equality for girls has had unprecedented impact. We have been transforming our operations at the Global Hub to be the best possible partner for the 8,000+ staff who work in our country offices, and working to become a more agile, efficient and accountable organization.

We have improved our mechanisms for collaboration, transparency and data-gathering. The transformation has also increased the number of decisions to be taken close to the point of impact and distributed power more widely throughout the organisation.

To bring about lasting change, we have to live our values. We are committed not simply to telling the world we are the go to organisation on girls’ rights, but to embedding justice and equality in all that we do.

Will you join us?

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the Gender Transformative Policy & Practice area and associated specialist hub areas – Protection from Violence, Early Childhood Development, Skills and Opportunities for Youth Economic Empowerment, SRHR and Inclusive Quality Education, providing overall management and coherence across all Plan International’s thematic and cross-cutting work in policy, advocacy and, in particular, practice, in order to tackle the root causes of discrimination against girls, exclusion and vulnerability.

Your role will be to provide thought leadership, expertise, and coordination across programme and influencing priorities and approaches to support the delivery of Plan International’s strategic ambition to transform the lives of 100 million girls, connecting and coordinating with the wider Plan International organisation to ensure that programme and influence work is grounded in the contexts and real-life challenges girls face.

The Individual

With extensive international strategic leadership experience, including leading, empowering, coaching and developing large multi-disciplinary teams in and across countries you will have expertise and experience in development and humanitarian programming and gender equality in fragile and more stable contexts. You will have led programme and influence design, monitoring and evaluation and learning and knowledge management in a variety of settings
