Director, Project Management (research programmes)

We are recruiting on behalf of our client a Director, Project Management, to supervise and manage projects in a number of different locales (mainly Africa). This role calls for an attention to the minutiae of each project as well as a focus on the larger overall project portfolio. The Director of Programme Management will be managing a number of project portfolio leads and will serve as their point of escalation on issues – many of which will be (research) technical in nature. The ideal candidate for the role has the capacity to work in a multi-cultural environment and ability to juggle and execute on numerous responsibilities, sometimes on tight timelines.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree (preferred). Project Management certification is an asset, but not mandatory;
• At least 8 years in Program Management with good experience in managing projects being delivered across multiple modalities;
• Deep understanding of the international research space and solid experience in market research with 4+ years in managing research projects;
• Experience in managing, designing, implementing and evaluating multi-country projects;
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills with 4+ years in a management role;
• Experience in building and maintaining relationships with a wide variety of clients.
