Every year, millions of people around the world go missing as a result of conflict, human rights abuses, disasters, organized crime, irregular migration, and other causes. This is a complex global challenge that can be tackled effectively through cross-cutting programs that address a variety of difficult, interconnected issues.
The International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP) is the only international organization tasked exclusively to work on the issue of missing persons. Position Background
Under the overall guidance and supervision of the CEL Manager, the main duties and responsibilities will include the following:
- Development and delivery of a foundational course on DNA Laboratory’s Quality Management System
- Support on the development of a course focusing on a high-throughput DNA Laboratory Workflow
- Potential delivery of both training courses in Erbil, Iraq.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in Forensic Science, Genetics, Molecular Biology or a related discipline
- At least five years professional experience in DNA analysis of forensic casework samples, including data and information management
- Experience with Quality Assurance and Quality Control mechanisms and Laboratory management for DNA testing
- Extensive experience in the implementation of ISO/IEC 17025:2017
- Demonstrated delivery of training materials. Particularly in Quality Management Systems and in the specific requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 including but not limited to: Learning and Development, Research and Validation, Document Control, Internal Audits and Corrective Actions, Reviews of requests, tenders and contracts, Purchasing Services and Supplies, Service to the customer/feedback, Customer Complaints, Conducting management reviews, Test and calibration methods, Accommodations for testing, Handling of test items, Reporting the results
- Willingness and ability to travel to Erbil, Iraq

Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
