Inspired Gifts is a UNICEF global fundraising programme to support the purchase of products needed by programme in emergencies. Inspired Gifts landed in China since 2013, the first IG shop is on Taobao platform, later a Wechat shop and Web shop were established in June 2015 and September 2019. Inspired Gifts is to raise awareness and familiarity of UNICEF work globally, and the major channel of China office to raise regular resources.
From 2018, UNICEF branded physical gift approach was recommended by head of the office to strengthen Inspired Gifts’ selling proposition and expand IG product portfolio to benefit the buyers’ children as well. From 2019, a solid process and framework that cover planning, design, production, inspection, logistics, operation, promotion, customer service, monitoring and reporting which have been established and being continually optimized. 5 pilot product bundles were launched cross three online shops. Through continuous testing and optimization, Inspired Gifts business model has been innovating and growing rapidly, it can not only contribute to income generation, but also drive more opportunities to engage ‘Friend’ for UNICEF China.
To enrich Inspired Gifts needs to effectively execute strategy, diversify promotion, actively collaborate for new opportunities, so that under the general supervision and guidance of Digital Officer, E-shop Operation Assistant will support for Inspired Gifts e-shops daily operation and physical product approach implementations to ensure all shops and products being managed smoothly.
How can you make a difference?
E-shop Operation Assistants at the GS-5 level report to Digital Officer is accountable for multiple online shop routine operation, performance monitor and support all execution requirements of Inspired Gifts. The key results have an impact on regular resource contribution by China office and continue to maintain this effective channel to acquire high quality ‘Friends’ for UNICEF China.
To be specific, the E-Shop Operation Assistant is expected to deliver the following responsibilities –
Online Shop Operation Support:
- Assist in routine operation work of three online shops and monitor sales performance upon approved workplan and KPI on daily basis
- Under supervisor’s steering, assist in working with Marketing team and the agency to prepare content and design of banners, landing pages, social media posts for monthly promotion campaigns, ensure launch by agreed timeline
- Follow up marketing material preparation for emergency campaigns under predefined guideline and process, including Key visual, Landing page, EDM etc.
- Prepare ecard and documentations according to approved requirements of Corporate buyers
- Provide weekly reports of Inspired Gifts sales and testing upon requirements and templates
- Collect invoices and filing documents for approval and thereafter processing
New Product Design and Production Support:
- Prepare and maintain records, documents and control plans for the monitoring of project implementation
- Follow up progress of product design, sample, inspection and production upon the confirmed timeline
- Follow supervisor’s instruction to arrange communications, meetings, visits to support UNICEF’s requirements and standards’ achievement
Collaboration Support:
- Collect feedbacks, comments and questions of Inspired Gifts from internal and external stakeholders to support on improving operation performance and risk management
- Support supervisor to coordinate multiple suppliers for solving problems in the process according to Inspired Gifts operation guidelines
- Respond and support dynamic requests related to Inspired Gifts, follow standard FAQ and process
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
- Completion of secondary education is required, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses related to the work of the organization.
- 5 years Ecommerce Trading experience ideally working for a branded product online retailer.
- Native Mandarin Chinese skills, reading and writing. Good command of spoken English and working knowledge of written English.
- Training and experience using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other UNICEF software such as SharePoint
- Organizational, planning and prioritizing skills and abilities.
- High sense of confidentiality, initiative and good judgment.
- Ability to work effectively with people of different national and cultural background.
