INFORMATION ON THE CONTEXT OF THE MISSION
The intensity of the disaster in Central America caused by ETA and IOTA hurricanes and the call for humanitarian assistance from the government of Honduras led HI to organize this rapid exploratory mission under the Authority of the Emergency Division. The objective of this mission was to understand the impact of the hurricanes on the population already strongly affected by COVID-19 crisis, to assess the response capacities of the actors present on the area and the potential gaps and to figure out the coordination mechanism in place.
YOUR MISSION
Based in Tegucigalpa/San Pedro Sula, reporting to the Emergency Manager in HQ, the Emergency Coordinator is responsible for:
- The security management
- The finalization of the context & needs analysis and needs assessment and the design of HI strategy of intervention in Honduras following the Eta and Iota hurricanes
- The framing and implementation of HI intervention (including ATLAS-related intervention)
- The team management in Honduras
- The representation of HI in front of the local actors and authorities.
YOUR PROFILE:
- At least 5 years of professional experience in the field of emergency intervention implementation & coordination
- Previous experience with HI is an asset
- Experience in working remotely is an asset
- Previous experience providing technical support to programs and partners is an asset
- Security management skills
- Team management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills is expected
- French or English mandatory (oral and written)
- Spanish mandatory (oral and written)
- Strong project and team management skills mandatory
- Strong communication and reporting skills
CONDITIONS:
- International contract from beginning of December from 1 to 3 months
- Salary : starting from 2757 euros gros salary per month
- Per diem : 500 euros per month
- Hardship allowance: 250 euros per month
