Position Title: General Call for Evaluation Consultants

Job Description

EnCompass seeks Evaluation Specialists to support anticipated evaluation/assessment assignments on water and agriculture projects. The Evaluation Specialists will be responsible for guiding the design and implementation of project evaluations. Expertise in these technical areas is preferred: agriculture, water, energy, and natural resource management. Qualified applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

Consultants must have one or more of the following:

  • Experience with evaluation design, methods, management, and implementation
  • Experience as subject matter experts in any of these sectors/technical areas
    • Agriculture
    • Water
    • Energy
    • Natural resource management
    • Biodiversity
    • Gender equality/ women’s economic empowerment
    • Base of the Pyramid inclusion
  • Experience with gender equality /women’s economic empowerment, poverty reduction, and business approaches which target the Base of the Pyramid
  • Experience working in any of the following regions: Sub-Saharan Africa, Middle East and North Africa, and/or South and Southeast Asia

Position Duties and Responsibilities

Consultants may do one or more of the following:

  • Lead or support evaluation/assessment/study design processes, data collection tool development, data collection efforts, analysis, reporting, and learning
  • Provide subject matter expertise in sectors/technical areas noted on the questionnaire (see below for instructions).
  • Ensure that all deliverables are met in a timely manner
  • Serving as a liaison between the donor agency and the evaluation/analytic team
  • Leading briefings and presentations with the donor and other key stakeholders

  • Your experience leading or supporting major evaluation activities
  • Organizations for which you have evaluation activities
  • Your experience in participatory approaches to evaluation
  • Evaluation reports that you have authored or co-authored (with links to the reports if possible)
