We are looking for a proactive, well organised finance enthusiast who is keen to further develop their career whilst working for one of the worlds leading peacebuilding organisations. You will report directly to the Finance Manager to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Bought Ledger function and be willing to assist fellow colleagues during busy periods or covering team absence.

The ideal candidate will have at least two year’s relevant finance qualification and experience, will be an excellent communicator, possess reasonable accounting software and Excel skills and have a positive attitude towards gaining experience in several different Finance areas.

The purpose of this post is to provide high quality finance support across the full spectrum of finance issues, including:

· Implementation and maintenance of International Alert’s financial procedures, ensuring the accounting function meets all statutory requirements and appropriate financial controls/standards for effective financial management;

· Providing a service to staff to ensure the correct processing of expenses to ensure maintenance of proper procedures; and recording transactions in a timely, accurate and complete way;

· Supporting the protection of the organisation’s assets, especially its cash balances, bank accounts and fixed assets and make sure they are accurately reflected in the accounts;

· Assisting the Finance Manager in preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts, statutory accounts for audit and other reports for stakeholders.
