IID is a non-governmental, non-profit independent organization founded in 2003 by a group of young people from different backgrounds in Mosul. Main fields of work are human rights, peace-building and training, consultancy and disseminating assessment reports. We aspire a society that respects human rights through cultural and political change in Iraq’s democratic dialogue, to turn it into a more participatory society, where all social groups can be included in a non-violent way. We aim to build relationships between individuals and groups that support these mindsets and principles.
Main Task
Determining the organizational goals, planning, organizing, and following up the implementation of the plans for financial management according to the organization’s bylaws and the regulations and laws in force in the Republic of Iraq and the approved procedures.
Position Responsibilities and Duties:
The Finance Manager will undertake the following responsibilities under the direct supervision of the Iraqi Institute for Development (IID) manager in Iraq:
· Monitor the budgets versus spent on a monthly basis and advise the manager on deviations.
· Annual budget for Baghdad and Kurdistan region
· Overall responsible for the accounting (including quality assurance) of IID’s finance in Iraq
· Periodic reports on financial status and proposals for) IID) manager.
· To periodically review the output of the applied automated accounting software and other software that assists it, verify the accuracy of the accounting, and supervise the periodic maintenance schedule of automated software.
· Prepare all payments both for IID suppliers and staff
· Manage bank account balances to minimize foreign exchange volatility on cash held for programs and operations.
· Prepare monthly reconciliations of balance accounts related to the Office. Ensure that the reconciliations are checked and signed by manager.
· Ensure that the data booking is done in compliance with the relevant reporting codes
· Ensure that the accounting is done according to deadlines set by IID.
· Ensure that all project expenditure authorization processes are done.
· Financial control over the cash flows required for projects.
· Ensure that all procurements are in line with IID policy and procedures at the point of clearing the payments.
· Ensure that program advances are controlled and cleared with acceptable documentation and vouchers.
· Together with the Logistics department maintain an up-to-date inventory of the moveable assets of the office.
· Work with relevant units to safeguard all office assets including accommodation and stock items ensuring satisfactory level of accountability and internal controls at all times.
Qualifications & requirements:
· This position demands a dynamic individual with a demonstrated ability to achieve results in a demanding and fast paced environment. Creativity, strong work ethic and Confidentiality are highly valued. Exceptional individuals are encouraged to apply.
· A university degree of Accounting.
· 3 Year experience at least of working as a Finance manager
· Experience desirable working in NGO fields.
· Excellent interpersonal, communication, public speaking, and strategic planning skills required.

· Fluency in English (spoken and written) required;
· Having good proficiency in using e-mails and MS office programs.
· Having previous coordination experience.
· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, tasks efficiently;
· Excellent time management skills and resourcefulness with strong attention to detail.
