Cufa is an International Development Agency with a focus on promoting financial inclusion and increasing financial literacy and improving economic livelihoods. Cufa has been developing community access to affordable financial services in the Asia Pacific region for 50 years, working cooperatively at grass-roots through to government levels, building capacity in emerging financial cooperative movements to create sustainability, improve lives, and relieve poverty.

Cufa is seeking a Financial Literacy Expert to work on a three-years project to be implemented across the Bangladesh, Myanmar and the Philippines. The project’s objective is to increase the capacity and empowerment of women and incentivize their involvement in the poultry and aquaculture sectors through climate-resilient farming best practices and financial literacy training.Responsibilities:
Train women and/or households headed by women on financial literacy including personal finances, utilizing savings and credit, simple budgeting and calculating profit, understanding contracts and banking electronically.

Selection criteria:

  • Masters or a PhD in the area of financial literacy.

  • Be an expert with over 10 years of experience in the field of financial literacy in the developing world.

  • Experience and good understanding of agricultural economics is a must.

  • Prior experience in organizing trainings for women.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; ability to communicate in the relevant local languages would be an advantage.
