About the role
The Front-end Software Developer will work alongside other developers in the Digital Transformation (D) Team under the advice and mentorship of the Global Technical Lead. The role holder will play a key role in the development, configuration, oversight, and auditing of NRC’s digital solutions, including, when required, those produced by other units. Some of the main duties and responsibilities for the role holder will be:
- Ensure the delivery of reliable and secure software with a strong focus on continuous testing and adherence to software security standards
- Write well designed, efficient code using best software development practices.
- Prepare technical documentation and specifications on a regular basis.
- Create unit test plans, contribute to functional/UAT test plans as needed.
- Assist in the preparation of instructional and training material for user adoption.
- Maintain production systems, including integrations, and continuously seek to improve functionality and performance.
As our prospective candidate, you have the following;
- 3 years of relevant experience with IT projects and/or working with start-ups.
- Solid knowledge and hands-on experience with Web Applications, in particular Javascript / Typescript, HTML, CSS, and RESTful APIs.
- Proven experience with the Angular Framework and/or React Framework.
- Understanding of RxJs, Redux (@ngrx/store). Solid understanding of how web applications work including security, session management, web sockets, and best development practices
- Proven experience with large IT projects involving multiple stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related subjects, or demonstrable expertise in the field.
