Job Summary/General Purpose of Job

This position is responsible for providing all administrative support to the Fund for Justice and Education department of the American Bar Association.

 

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities (listed in order of importance and/or time spent)

Receives and processes donations and prepares acknowledgement letters and other correspondence for the department.

Maintains and updates donor files and provides reporting to the development department leader as necessary.

Creates monthly fundraising reports and special reports in support of the department.

Conducts preliminary research on prospective donors and may conduct basic analytic summarization of the data.

Coordinates the production of annual and special fund letters.

Maintains guest lists, gathers and prepares registration materials, and provides operational support to and at fund-raising events.

Provides general administrative support to the department, including, but not limited to, ordering supplies, making travel arrangements, creating appointments, general correspondence production, maintaining files, and screening calls.

Performs other related duties as required.

 

Required Education, Qualifications, Experience

Possession of a high school diploma or GED.

Minimum of two years working in an office environment, preferably in a nonprofit setting providing administrative support. 

Exceptional skills in the areas of organization, attention to detail, and project time management, with demonstrated experience working both independently and as a team member.

Previous experience working with development software such as Blackbaud’s Raiser Edge or similar product.  Knowledge of Blackbaud’s Online Express, JustGiving, and RE NXT preferred

Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Excellent customer service skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality.

 

Preferred Education, Qualifications, Experience

Possession of an Associate’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university.

Previous experience working for a not-for-profit, NGO, and/or Association

Previous experience working in a not-for-profit development office.
