Job description
An experienced and passionate professional able to lead the Funding and Financing Working Group of Hydrogen Europe, in close collaboration with the Head of Intelligence, Financing and Market Intelligence, the Secretary General, the responsible board member and the members of the association.
Main responsibilities:
- Coordinating the work of the Funding and Financing Working Group such as:
- organisation of meetings,
- dissemination of relevant information to members of Hydrogen Europe,
- animating discussions,
- developing common positions and position papers.
- Facilitating access to Funding and Financing for the members of Hydrogen Europe, which would require:
- identifying funding opportunities for the sector, members or Hydrogen Europe itself,
- developing expertise in funding rules and state aid rules,
- facilitating contact between the hydrogen sector and private financiers (corporate & project finance),
- supporting Hydrogen Europe’s Policy Team in advocating for new/improved funding at EU level.
- work closely with the European Investment Bank (EIB) within the framework of the advisory agreement between Hydrogen Europe and the Bank.
- support in projects’ financial engineering within the ECH2A and IPCEI processes. (ECH2A = European Clean Hydrogen Alliance, IPCEI = Important Projects of Common European Interest).
- support the Hydrogen Europe’s Intelligence Unit in tasks related to financial modelling.
Required:
- 5-7 years of experience in private finance of companies and projects and/or business case preparation, acquired either in a specialized consultancy or in the research and EU funding department of a company, a research organization or a trade association.
- Good knowledge of EU funding programmes and their rules, specifically those of the EIB.
- A relevant university degree (e.g., science or engineering, economics, policy, MBA, etc.)
- Demonstrated capacity in preparing documents such as project proposals or tenders.
- Capacity to animate group discussions and build common positions.
- Proven organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent numerical skills, including capacity to collect, organise and analyse quantitative data
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office tools.
- Excellent written English.
Nice to have :
- Experience in working with European institutions and stakeholder management in the European ecosystem.
- Good knowledge of clean energy and transport technologies and players
- Good knowledge of the hydrogen ecosystem
- Additional languages
