The Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Manager will take a lead role in improving the quality and relevance of GESI activities related to activities in the LEARN activity. The Gender Manager will provide guidance on gender and social inclusion across project objectives and activities. S/he will be responsible for gender and social inclusion analysis as well as developing a robust gender strategy.

This position reports to the Learning Specialist.

Responsibilities

  • Develop GESI specific recommendations tailored to LEARN objectives and activities.
  • Develop GESI strategy and identify activity level gender and inclusion related indicators.
  • Conduct staff and partner training sessions tailored to the local LEARN context, discussing how proposed interventions strengthen project objectives and results.
  • Identify and engage relevant local stakeholders to support GESI work and assist in socializing interventions.
  • Facilitate GESI analysis and maintains ongoing monitoring and evaluation of gender focused initiatives and activities.
  • Ensure the project’s gender equality and social inclusion strategy is implemented in compliance with project work plan and client expectations;

    Qualifications

  • At least a Masters’ degree in social studies, business, international development, or a related field (or, alternately, a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 5 additional years of relevant experience);

  • At least 5 years’ technical experience in donor-funded gender programming.

  • Experience with education programming is highly desired;

  • English Fluency required
