Internship Opportunity!

Save the Children International has an exciting opportunity for an intern to join our Global Media Unit for three months in London.

Role Purpose:

This role will serve as support for the Global Media Team, providing the candidate with the opportunity to work in a fast-paced media environment within an INGO. You will work on social media and digital storytelling, outreach to international media, and presentations and other assigned tasks. You will report into the Director of the Global Media Unit.

As an intern, you will have the opportunity to network within Save the Children International and participate in learning sessions about various topics spanning the breadth of Save the Children’s work. Through this experience, you will gain a greater understanding about the international humanitarian community and the role of media in this. You will also gain transferable skills that are applicable to a variety of roles, particularly in digital media.

Experience and Skills-

Skills:

  • Enthusiastic to learn and a keen eye out for a storyline
  • Have a knack for writing that storyline
  • Organised and calm under pressure, able to manage several projects at once, working to competing deadlines.
  • Ability to work fast and accurately, often in a high-pressure environment
  • Strong interest in global issues and political debates affecting children
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
  • Track record in building social media audiences is an advantage
  • Willingness to sometimes work outside office hours
  • Speaking an extra language (or two) is a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite

We can offer £350 a week with an option of flexible working hours.
